Delta air lines defends jfk display that erased israel for Arab American heritage month

During Arab American Heritage Month, a display went up in a Delta employee break room at JFK Airport depicting a map of “Palestine” stretching from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea — with no Israel, no Jewish state, and Ramallah listed as the capital.

Delta’s response? A shrug.

They called it employees “celebrating culture.” But maps are political documents, and this one broadcasts the explicit territorial slogan of Hamas. Delta’s Jewish employees and passengers — people who recognize Israel as both a historical homeland and a modern state — are being told their history is negotiable.

Delta has done this before: in 2024 a company social media post sympathized with passengers alarmed by Palestinian flag pins on flight attendants, then reversed course under pressure. The pattern is clear.
